On June 18, 2026, at approximately 8:15 a.m., deputies responded to the 900 block of E. Boonville St. in Sedalia for a reported assault. Upon arrival, a deputy contacted the victim, who stated he had been standing outside his residence when Travis Edgar came outside and said, โLetโs just duke this out and get over with it.โ
The victim reported that he did not know why Edgar was acting aggressively. He said he told Edgar to stay away from him. According to the probable cause statement, Edgar approached the victim and began punching him in the head. The victim showed the deputy a red knot behind his left ear where he reported being struck. The deputy noted that the victim is elderly and has a back disability, torn shoulders, an injured knee, and other medical issues.
Edgar is now charged with assault in the fourth degree.
