On May 21, 2026, deputies with the Howell County Sheriffโs Office were dispatched to Pomona for a sex offense. Investigators determined that a 27-year-old, Seth A. Smith, performed sex acts on a 12-year-old male child approximately 2 years prior.
During an interview with the victim, he reported that Smith put his pen*s in his โbuttโ on numerous occasions. Smith later agreed to come to the Sheriffโs Office for an interview. After being advised of his rights, Smith admitted to having intercourse with the victim. Smith initially stated he put his pen*s on the victimโs butt but admitted to penetrating the victim for approximately 10 seconds before โpulling outโ.
Smith stated he told the victim not to tell anyone because he knew it was wrong, followed by apologizing and promising it would not happen again. Smith also stated he touched the victimโs buttocks on numerous occasions. Smith further alluded to sexual encounters with other underage individuals but stated it โwas a long time agoโ, when he was 15 years old.
Smith further told detectives that after discovering โfurry pornโ, he became interested in animals and has now progressed to children. Smith stated he knows what he did was wrong, and he deserves to be in jail. Deputies placed Smith under arrest.
Smith is now charged with sodomy in the first degree, victim is less than 12 years old, and child molestation in the second degree โ child less than 12 years old.
