On June 15, 2026, detectives with the Morgan County Sheriff's Office were notified of a sexual assault that occurred in Versailles. Hospital staff at Maryโs in Jefferson City reported that the victim disclosed she had been raped by her father, Ronald Lee Brown Jr.
A sexual assault examination occurred, and the staff advised deputies they did not locate any evidence of injury to the victimโs vaginal area. The staff further advised that the victim disclosed that her father inserted his fingers and penis into her vagina.
Deputies detained Ronald and transported him to the Morgan County Sheriffโs Office for questioning. While speaking with Ronald, Ronald admitted to taking two Ecstasy pills along with drinking half a fifth of tequila earlier in the morning. Ronald stated he knew he had done something to the victim but did not remember what. Ronald later admitted to sticking his fingers in the victimโs vagina before engaging in sexual intercourse. Ronald said he may have mistaken the victim for his girlfriend. Deputies noted Ronaldโs girlfriend lives in Chicago, IL. Ronald further stated he believed the person he was engaging in sexual acts with was asleep and only stopped after ejaculating.
Ronald stated that after waking up and realizing what he had done, he called in to work, spoke with his grandpa, and called to tell his girlfriend what he had done. Ronald also reportedly attempted to speak with the victim, but she was upset and refused to speak with him. Ronald stated he did not remember having any other physical sexual contact with the victim.
Ronald is now charged with statutory rape in the second degree, statutory sodomy in the second degree, and two counts of incest.
